It's super easy to jump across the ditch to Europe from Scotland, and my family and I are often making trips to explore the melting pot of cultures. Europe offers something for everyone- outstanding beach resorts, a rich tapestry of culture, and mouthwatering cuisine to name a few. You'll find my guides on Europe in this section- may they help you plan the perfect adventures around Europe!

Best time to visit

We love visiting Europe in winter for mulled wine and Christmas markets, or for a warm escape (compared to Scotland’s temperatures!) from March to May, or October and November.

Europe Travel Tips

I recommend booking a holiday package with Jet2 Holidays, Jet2 CityBreaks or Jet2 Villas. The packages are affordable, the flight times are great, and it’s so much easier!

The majority of countries in Europe use the Euro (€), however, some countries in Europe have their own currency. Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Sweden have their own currency.

Favourite destinations

My top 3 destinations in Europe are Budapest (Hungary), Gdansk (Poland), and Corfu (Greek Island).

Europe really has something for everyone, and it’s one of my favourite continents to visit! Our family often visits Europe at least a couple of times per year, exploring a different country, exotic island, or bustling city depending on where the mood takes us. Europe is divided into four regions: Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Northern Europe, and Southern Europe. Eastern Europe is made up of Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine. Northern Europe is made up of the Scandinavian countries including Norway, Denmark and Sweden. It also includes the Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Western Europe is one of the most popular regions to visit, and includes the countries of Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Switzerland. Southern Europe is made up of all the countries near the Mediterranean Sea, including Spain, Italy, Malta, Greece, Croatia, Bosnia and Portugal, and Montenegro.
