I am SUPER excited to announce that I’ll be launching a podcast on my blog!

It’s called Wild Women, and it will focus on adventurous women doing amazing things in the outdoors.

I was at a conference recently where I met a woman who had taken up wild swimming to push herself out of her comfort zone. I told her about a few of my recent adventures and she replied ‘So you’re a wild woman too!’

I fell in love with the term, and I realised I wanted to find more Wild Women and share their stories of self-discovery and survival.

I’ve already got some incredible women lined up to be interviewed, but I need your help finding the last few women for the first season of the series.

Why am I launching this podcast?

Last year I solo hiked the Scottish National Trail, an 864 kilometre hike that runs the length of Scotland. One of the reasons I decided to do this hike was because I thought it would be a great way to reconnect with myself in nature.

I’ve battled with anxiety, depression and burnout most of my adult life- side effects of our ‘more is more’ culture today. We are more connected to our phones, than we are with ourselves- and this is a huge problem.

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem every year. In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week!

My home country, New Zealand, has one of the worst youth suicide statistics in the world.

Spending time in nature and being on the trail changed my life. My confidence, problem solving skills and mental health vastly improved. In fact, all I need to do is step outside and go for a walk to realign myself.

I want to share my story and others like it with the world to encourage other women to go on their own adventures of self-discovery.

Are you a Wild Woman?

Are you a Wild Woman, or do you know someone who is? Have you taken up adventure in the outdoors to heal a mental or physical illness?

Are you a swimmer, climber, or hiker? Or have you made a radical change in your life to combat anxiety, depression or a physical illness?

It is my mission to find more Wild Women and share their inspirational stories with the world.

If you, or someone you know would make a fantastic guest on my Wild Women podcast fill out this form and I’ll be in touch.
